Kristin Adkins is a nurse who cares for children with epilepsy. She helps coordinate her patients' care, including by helping evaluate their condition's progression and their responses to treatments.

Before joining UCSF, Adkins worked as a registered nurse in private practices, providing support during medical and surgical procedures. She is passionate about health care advocacy for children.

After earning a bachelor's degree from California Polytechnic State University, Adkins completed a bachelor's degree in nursing from Samuel Merritt University. She is certified as a nurse case manager by the Commission for Case Manager Certification.

    Fetal surgery firsts

    The first open fetal surgery in the world was performed at UCSF in the early 1980s.
