Eli Fox Chaney

NP MSN

Nurse practitioner
Dog lover and nature explorer

Eli Fox Chaney is a nurse practitioner in the department of neurointerventional radiology, a procedural department that performs minimally invasive surgeries on the brain and spine using imaging guidance such as X-ray and CT scans.

She coordinates patients' care before and after these procedures and other treatments at both UCSF and Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center. She also assists doctors during procedures such as cerebral angiograms (tests of how blood flows through the brain using dye that shows clearly on X-rays) and embolizations (a technique for stopping flow in a blood vessel in the brain to control aneurysms and other problems), and she administers spinal steroid injections and performs lumbar punctures (using a needle to withdraw a sample of cerebrospinal fluid for analysis). Fox Chaney cares for adults in person and conducts preoperative telehealth visits with pediatric patients.

Fox Chaney earned a master's degree in nursing at UCSF.

In her free time, Fox Chaney enjoys time in nature with her dog, as well as cooking, doing embroidery and playing the violin.
