Neurointerventional Radiology Clinic
Radiologists at our Pediatric Neurointerventional Radiology Clinic use advanced imaging technologies and minimally invasive surgical techniques to care for children with a wide range of vascular conditions involving the central nervous system – the brain, spinal cord, and nerves of the head and neck. Conditions we treat include aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations and strokes, and fractured vertebrae.
Guided by X-ray, MRI or other imaging techniques for precision, we use catheters – thin, flexible tubes – to perform procedures in specific sites in the body via tiny incisions. We are able to use this minimally invasive approach to treat many conditions that once required conventional surgery, offering patients greater safety, less pain and shorter recovery times.
Our team works closely with UCSF specialists in head and neck surgery, neurology, neurosurgery and radiation oncology to provide care tailored to the unique needs of each patient and family.
